There never was a bond so great as a girl and her dog。

Acho que se pode dizer que este é o livro mais misterioso dos cinco (pelo menos dos que eu li até agora), nele há imensos mistérios e o Tim acaba por ser o herói da história。 É uma leitura muito emocionante educativa。

Book 6 of the famous five another great adventure yet again with people trying to steal information from Quentin。 Bit confused why Alf the fisher boy is now called James。

Eep, it was awesome!!! And reading at midnight is sooo fun hehehAlso criminals can be soo mean, also George I still don't get how easily George gave Timmy to her dad, now, if it were me, I would have thrown a HUGE tantrum for giving the island, and even more and asked for soo many things if someone were to take my dog, and told them I'd be visiting more than 2 times a week。Anyways, Enid Blyton will always be the best author ever。 Eep, it was awesome!!! One of the best Famous Five books。 Gripping and enthralling and very entertaining。

Waa never a big fan of this one。 It's quite slow for a Blyton and a little less dramatic。 Though we do have another never discovered before secret tunnel。 I think it might have been my favourite discovery this one too。 Does make you wonder, n all seriousness did George really know Kirrin Island at all? Also, it seems that the task of secretly looking after Timmy (back when he was Timothy) was higher risk than Alf the fishermen may have thought。 He was evidently forced into witness protection。 Adm Waa never a big fan of this one。 It's quite slow for a Blyton and a little less dramatic。 Though we do have another never discovered before secret tunnel。 I think it might have been my favourite discovery this one too。 Does make you wonder, n all seriousness did George really know Kirrin Island at all? Also, it seems that the task of secretly looking after Timmy (back when he was Timothy) was higher risk than Alf the fishermen may have thought。 He was evidently forced into witness protection。 Admittedly not a very successful one as while he's changed his name to James but someone forgot he needs to change location。Speaking of forgetful people, good to see Uncle Quentin's work scope is widening even more, but remains secret and very important。 。。。more

Uncle Quentin is all alone on Kirrin Island and has built a tower for his work and is not even letting George and her cousins on it even though they know the island way better than he does。 But when they discover a secret tunnel that leads under the sea they think there's more to meet the eye than they thought on Kirrin Island。 This book is great and I really enjoyed it。-review written by my 9 year old Uncle Quentin is all alone on Kirrin Island and has built a tower for his work and is not even letting George and her cousins on it even though they know the island way better than he does。 But when they discover a secret tunnel that leads under the sea they think there's more to meet the eye than they thought on Kirrin Island。 This book is great and I really enjoyed it。-review written by my 9 year old 。。。more

I loved these books as a child, now, after reading this one i realize how sexist and misogynistic they are。

Yes! Time to ginger beer is start of chapter 2。Chapter 4 is particularly queer。 Enid’s favourite word gets a real work out。 Queer this and queer that。 It’s all very queer。And where is Uncle Quentin? Whoa, there he is。 Are we venturing in to sci-fi territory?Unlike the first 5 books, there are quite a few surprising nods to the real world in this one。 There’s the fact that the children go through London on the way home from boarding school。 Then at one point they watch TV - interesting because th Yes! Blyton ups the ante in this one!Let's see。 In previous books we've had1。 castle dungeons2。 a tunnel between houses3。 a cool cave on the island4。 a network of caves and tunnels under a hill5。 a secret tunnel and caveHow can we improve on that? How about a tunnel under the sea!!!Oh yeah。 I imagine Enid would have loved D&D had she been alive for it!And Timmy gets to be a special star in this one。 。。。more

Much better than the last disappointing book and more like the classic adventures we all know and love。 It was nice to get more context into Uncle Quintin and his work。 I feel as though we may have been lead into this book asking questions which is a better technique than how the others have been written 。 Best books of this series are written with the setting in a place more realistic to what would have happened in real life making the reader feel childhood nostalgia。

Food, fun, adventures! Except all is NOT well for George。 Her Father Quentin has pinched her island for the summer to run some kind of quatermass (quatermass is now how I see Quentin) experiment involving the sea and some lovecraftian tower that sends out electrical sparks and lights up。 I did at this point wonder if we’d entered stranger things or if Quentin was indeed trying to call the old Gods up from the sea。 But no, he’s just trying to find the Higgs boson I believe。 So George is pretty cross but comes to see sense。 She’d even crosser when her dad pinched her dog too because something odd is going on on the island。 Again, ALWAYS ALWAYS LISTEN to George。 But actually listen to Dick (cheeky) too! I’m going to do a quick summary。 So guns, bombs, secret tunnels under the sea! George is right, as always, Timmy saves the day, Quentin saves the world (I’m still waiting) and Ann is brave。 All great stuff。 A little overdramatic for my taste though。 。。。more

The Five books seem to follow the same formula, but as a lighter read, they're surprisingly good。 I like to think of them as a palate cleanser of sorts? I appreciate the action packed scenes, and they're written well。 I mainly appreciate the kinder side of Uncle Quentin。 A light read, but a good read。 The Five books seem to follow the same formula, but as a lighter read, they're surprisingly good。 I like to think of them as a palate cleanser of sorts?
